I love J.L. Merrow and was looking forward to reading this one for a challenge. Like many other reviewers have noted, this book is more a mystery than a romance. The first kiss didn't occur til over a 100 pages in. I felt a bit frustrated with the super slow build up at that time, as it felt like there were a half dozen 'almost kiss' opportunities that made you want to go 'arg' when they fizzled out. But that faded by the end and ultimately it was a satisfying read, particularly if you're an Anglophile like me (like little village mystery with English odd duck characters). Both MCs were very appealing and the whole psychic angle was so well done, realistic, and completely woven into key plot moments. As usual, the writing was excellent and the side characters were really fun. Recommended.
